On May 6, 2012, the Canadian Ambassador, Geneviève des Rivières, visited the province of Tipaza. The outreach activity offered the opportunity to review the progress to date of the Kef Eddir dam project for which Canadian engineering firm AECOM-Tecsult is responsible for the studies and supervision. The Kef Eddir DAM is designed to meet drinking water and irrigation needs of the western region consisting of three wilayas.
Ambassador des Rivières also paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, Mr. Mostefa Layadi. He expressed his satisfaction with the work done to date by AECOM-Tecsult regarding the supervision of the Kef Eddir dam. He also expressed his desire to strengthen relations between the two countries. The meeting, which took place in a very relaxed setting, focussed on partnership opportunities.
The discussion also focused on the role of Canadians from the Maghreb who contribute greatly to exchanges between our two nations and trade between Canada and the Maghreb. The Ambassador reiterated her appreciation for the warm hospitality offered to all members of her delegation and expressed the wish to return for the official inauguration of the project.
