Annual Lecture Series
Join us in the Savannah History Museum and Theater for CHS’s Annual Lecture Series, this year focusing on the War of 1812.
Each lecture begins at 7:00p.m. with a reception starting at 6:30p.m.
September 18th:
Canadian & British Views of the United States on the Eve of the War of 1812, presented by Ron Dale, War of 1812 Bicentennial Project Manager for Parks Canada
October 2nd:
Captain Isaac Hull, the USS Constitution and HMS Guerriere, presented by John A. Caramia, Jr., Director of Interpretive Programs for Coastal Heritage Society; also featuring sea shanties and music for the sea with Jamie Keena
October 16th:
African American Experience in 1812, presented by Dr. Felicia Bell, assistant professor of history at Savannah State University; also featuring music by the McIntosh County Shouters
October 30th:
The Second War for Independence: Savannah and Georgia in the War of 1812, presented by Hugh Golson, native Savannahian & retired history educator.
