Canadian Advocacy at the Georgia State Capitol

On August 17, 2011, Consul General Stephen Brereton was invited by Speaker David Ralston to address the Georgia House of Representatives during its special session. The Consul General spoke of the strong Canada-Georgia trade relationship, the importance of the Canada-US energy and security partnership and the deep-rooted ties of friendship between the two countries. Canada is Georgia's largest export market and almost a quarter-million jobs in the state depend on $8.4 billion in annual bilateral trade with Canadians. The Georgia House of Representatives passed a resolution in recognition of this robust partnership.
In 2012, the Consulate General of Canada will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in Atlanta.
