FOR APPLICANTS IN GERMANY AND IN THE NETHERLANDS: Effective immediately, all temporary resident applications (visitor visa, study or work permit) or permanent resident travel document applications should be submitted either on-line or through the VAC. It is not necessary to come to Vienna to submit your application personally. You may submit applications in any category by mail, which avoids the inconvenience of waiting in line outside the Embassy. Place all your documents in an envelope.

For security reasons, wireless devices including cellular phones, computers, cameras, PDAs (personal data assistant) must be switched off on the premises.
Visitors to the Embassy are asked not to bring parcels, backpacks or luggage with them except in cases of emergency. You may be requested to leave such items outside of the offices at your own risk.
Please note that food and drink are not permitted in the embassy.
If you use private courier, you must make arrangements for a pre-paid airway bill indicating your name and your customer number.
For temporary resident applications (visitors, students, temporary workers), please provide the pre-paid airway bill with your application. Once the processing of your application has been completed, we will contact you so you can organize the pick up of your documents with the private courier company.
