On behalf of our team, I am pleased to welcome you to the home page of the Embassy of Canada in the three Baltic states - Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The Embassy opened its doors in 1993 and is situated in Riga, Latvia.
Since the three states regained their independence in 1991, Canada has been maintaining and deepening strong bilateral relations, which unite us through the Baltic communities in Canada. On the base of this mutual knowledge and our alliance as members of NATO and UN, we built an enriching partnership, which allows us to promote democracy, law state, good governance, and tolerance.
This home page resembles an open book, whose varied links would guide you through all the information you might need, be it an overview of the bilateral relations, general information about Canada, specific topics like trade, technical cooperation, programmes of Canadian studies, tourism, different partnership projects between Canada and the Baltic states.
The layout of our home page is built to satisfy different categories of users, such as Canadians wishing to visit the Baltic states, people interested in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania, those who would like to learn more about Canada. Canadian citizens are invited to consult sections on services available to them, others to look for information on visas, immigration, studies in Canada, or business possibilities.
