Appointment of Mr. Frédéric L. Agneessens as Honorary Consul of Canada for Flanders.

The Embassy of Canada in Brussels is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Frédéric L. Agneessens, a well-respected Belgian businessman, as Honorary Consul of Canada for Flanders.
In his capacity as Honorary Consul, Mr. Agneessens will be able to increase Canada's visibility and presence in this important region of Belgium.
Mr. Agneessens is eminently qualified for his new duties.
He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the European University in Antwerp, a Masters of Business Administration in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona (USA), and a Postgraduate Degree in Finance from KU Leuven.
He is bilingual Dutch-French, speaks English fluently and some German.
Mr. Agneessens is the Managing Director of Axxess Partners, an entrepreneurial private investment and advisory firm, and has extensive experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions as well as in private equity transactions.
He has been Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Canada-Belgium-Luxembourg since 2003 and is a Member of the Board of vzw België-Canada.
