We provide the following services: assistance for citizenship and passport matters, pensions, social insurance numbers, applications for provincial occasion certificates (birth, marriage, death), ship registration, taxation, child custody and abduction matters, distressed Canadians and prisoners (including Canada-U.S. prisoner transfer treaty issues), well-being, medical insurance, and information on other topics.

Consular assistance is offered to Canadians 24 hours a day. If you are a Canadian citizen in the consular territory covered by this office and in need of assistance, call 617-247-5100. If it is after hours and an emergency, you will be connected to the Watch Office of the Consular Affairs Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada in Ottawa, by simply dialling the phone number and following the instructions provided on the recording for this type of situation.
