Annual Starting Salary: between R$58.403,63 to R$70.456,26 + benefits
Please note: no payment will be made for any moving related expenses resulting from the acceptance of this position.

Screening Requirements

Education:

College education and/or completion of secondary school with a combination of work experience.

Language:

  • Proficiency in Portuguese (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Understanding of English or French will be considered an asset.

Experience:

At least 4 years of work experience in a similar position.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff and/or spouse, the chef should be able to prepare most any style of food or cuisine, elaborate and create menus for the benefits of the Ambassador and his family as well as for official events at the Official Residence of Canada in Brasilia. He/she maintains the kitchen, the equipment, and related supplies in a clean orderly fashion with the highest level of hygiene standards, and assists with other duties as required.

Rated Qualifications

Experience

  • Previous work experience in an Embassy, Official Residence or other international organization will be considered an asset.
  • Previous work experience with official events or with receptions hosted for groups of 50 people or more will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience planning and creating menus for events.
  • Experience maintaining records of kitchen equipment, food, supplies utensils and expenses
  • Experience using computer.

Knowledge

  • Basic fundamentals of culinary art
  • Sanitary practices and regulations.

Ability

  • Ability to create original recipes that might involve Canadian products.
  • Ability to assess and determinate priorities and to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team;
  • Ability to follow instructions;
  • Ability to work in a client service environment;
  • Ability in using social media platforms

Work Conditions

Overtime will be requirement for this position. The candidate may be required to work during evenings and weekends.

Conditions of Employment

The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Status Check (RS) obtained by Management. To conduct the Reliability Status Check (RS), the candidate must submit the following documents on being selected by the Mission.

  • Police clearance certificate (Civil/Criminal/Military/Electoral);
  • Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address.
  • Professional and educational mark sheets and certificates;
  • Identity / CPF / Passport / SUS identification;
  • Certificate of Canadian Citizenship (if applicable);
  • Birth Certificate;
  • Letter(s) of reference;
  • School certificate.
  • Valid work permit (if applicable)
