The Canadian Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro informs that for security reasons everyone is subject to review of his/her person and his/her belongings. Inspections will be made as follows:
- People: with metal detectors (including a portable detector);
- Personal belongings (suitcases, bags, etc.): with X-ray Machine.
In addition, it is forbidden to enter onto Consulate grounds with cameras, camcorders, pen drives, tape recorders, laptops, PDAs, radios, mobiles, beepers, iPods, iPhones, iPads or any other wireless communication device. All these devices should be left in a locker at the Consulate main entrance, where they will be safely stored until the visitor’s exit.
The Canadian Consulate-General, at its discretion, will refuse entrance to any person carrying large bags, weapons, or anything else that might compromise the safety and security of our employees, visitors, and invited guests.
