Information on contacting the Visa Section

*** In order to allow our Visa Section staff to devote themselves to processing applications in a timely manner, we have ensured that full information on the visa process and how to submit an application is clearly set out on the website to assist you in preparing your visa application.  As a result, we will not respond to inquiries which can be answered using information available on our website.   

Should you have an enquiry for which no information is available on our website, you may send your question to the following address.

However, please note that the estimated time of reply for enquiries by e-mail is  7- 15   working days.  Therefore, we recommend that any questions be sent well in advance of planned travel. Please do not send duplicates of your enquiries.

Security information

For security reasons, the following items are not allowed in the Embassy of Canada in Santiago:

  • cellular telephones
  • radios
  • cameras
  • other wireless communication and recording devices 
  • laptop  computers  

Visitors who have any of these items in their possession will have to leave them with security staff on arrival. The Embassy also reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone carrying large or suspicious packages, suitcases, weapons or any other item which could potentially jeopardize the safety and security of our staff, clients and visitors.
