JOB SUMMARY: The Contracting Specialist helps managers at Canadian Government Offices across China and Mongolia to contract for services and procure goods from their local markets. By continuously designing and implementing better procurement practices, the Contracting Specialist ensures that the Government of Canada receives excellent value for money on every purchase. As an expert in contracting with suppliers, this individual provides training to staff and provides advice on how they can navigate the Government of Canada's procedures. JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for someone who can take the initiative to use food and service to represent Canada and the Canadian Embassy in China.
This person must be up to the rewarding challenge of promoting Canada within the context of Chinese culture and bring creativity and innovation to his/her work.
The chef is required to manage all official hospitality functions hosted by the ambassador, as well as tend to the daily meals of the ambassador and his/her family. Events vary in size from 2 to 24-person seated meals to buffets and receptions for up to 200 people.
The chef is required to plan well-balanced meals and write menus with strong Canadian influences. The events have to be prepared and carried out with a high level of culinary expertise.
Additionally, the chef must be able to adapt quickly to changes as in any kitchen environment. The chef may be required to take part in promotional events and trade shows.
The role has a high degree of autonomy and requires someone who can also manage 3 support staff.
