Mike Murley in concert at Jazzhouse Montmartre

Mike Murley, one of Canada's most celebrated jazz musicians, will be performing at Jazzhus Montmartre on Saturday, June 15. Joining Mr. Murley will be a quartet consisting of Canadian Graig Earle on double bass, and Danes Heine Hansen and Jeppe Gram on piano and drums, respectively.

Mike Murley has performed on 10 Juno Award-winning recordings and is an 8-time recipient of the Jazz Report award for "saxophonist of the year". His most recent album, "Test of Time" was awarded the 2013 Juno for Jazz album of the year. Originally from Nova Scotia, Mike Murley has been a mainstay on the Toronto jazz scene since 1981, and besides frequent national and international tours is also an active educator, having been a full time lecturer at University of Toronto and York University, as well as a frequent guest faculty member at Humber College and the Banff Centre for the Arts. Mike Murley was also a founding member of the legendary "Shuffle Demons" and has performed with Kenny Wheeler, Randy Brecker, Time Warp, NOJO and Dave Douglas, among others.
