It is my pleasure, as well as that of my team, to welcome you to the website of the Canadian Embassy in the Dominican Republic. It is an honour to represent Canada and to be able to contribute to the expanding partnership between our two countries, which is based on more than half a century of diplomatic relations.
At the Embassy we are committed to support Canadian and Dominican relations by collaborating with a wide range of Dominican economic and social personalities to encourage prosperity, security and good governance.
The presence of a growing number of Canadian companies in the Dominican Republic and the annual increase of our trade exchange are also witnesses to this vitality. Canada’s investments in the banking and mining sectors, as well as in other domains make it the second largest foreign investor in the Dominican Republic.
Our Embassy website is designed, among other things, to inform on the services offered to Canadian citizens residing in the Dominican Republic as well as to the 750,000 tourists from Canada who visit this country every year, making it their third favourite beach destination. In addition to our Embassy in Santo Domingo, consular services are also available for Canadians in Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.
This website is also intended for Dominicans who want to learn more about Canada and our various programs, whether to visit the country, study or do business.
