Visas and Immigration

Welcome to the Visa Section of the Embassy of Canada to France in Paris.

As of September 4, 2013, you may need to give your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) when submitting a temporary resident (visitor visa, study or work permit) application. This new requirement affects citizens from 29 countries and one territory.

You can give your biometrics at the visa application centre (VACs) in Paris, France, or Algiers, Algeria.

For information about going to Canada and to find out how to submit an application for a visa or permit, please refer to our list of services below.

We provide these services to citizens of or persons legally admitted to these countries.

Important Notice:

The following applications should be submitted online or via a VAC: 

  • visitor visa or transit
  • study permit
  • work permit
  • permanent resident travel document

Applications received directly at the Canadian Embassy by mail will not be accepted.

Important information for applicants in Algeria
 
The VAC in Algiers is closed until further notice.  Updates will be provided when available.
 
Find out how to submit a temporary resident or permanent resident travel document application if you are applying from Algeria.

Do not come to the Embassy of Canada in person, otherwise you will be directed to the VAC.
