Studying in Canada

In most cases, you must obtain a study permit if you want to study in Canada, from primary school to university.

Please note that you must first be accepted by an educational institution in Canada. For Students Destined to the Province of Québec

You may submit your Study Permit application even if you have not yet obtained your Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (CAQ).

Please note however that your application will not be finalized until we received a copy of your CAQ.

Medical Examination

You may have to undergo a medical examination to study in Canada. Processing Time

attention If your application is accepted, you will receive a Letter of Introduction which you must present at a point of entry to Canada in order to obtain your Study Permit. Do not travel to Canada without first receiving your Letter of Introduction (LOI). Without it, you could be denied entry.

Temporary Resident Visa:

Citizens from certain countries also require a Temporary Resident Visa in addition to a study permit, a Temporary Resident Visa. If this applies to you, please send your original passport along with your application. If the Study Permit application is approved, a Temporary Resident Visa will be issued at the same time without further fees.
