International Experience Canada 2010

Applications for the International Experience Canada 2010 initiative (formerly known as Youth Mobility Program) are no longer being accepted.
The quota for the Working Holiday and the Young Professionals Program 2010 is full. At present, we cannot accept applications for the 2011 Programs. Information on the 2011 programs will be available in the month of November 2010 on this website.

For citizens of The Netherlands:

  • Working Holiday
    A twelve-month ‘open' work permit for young citizens of The Netherlands (18 - 30 years of age).
  • Young Professionals
    A twelve-month work permit for students or young professionals (18 - 30 years of age) who are citizens of The Netherlands. Participants need an offer of employment or internship made by a Canadian employer.

All candidates who wish to participate in the International Experience Canada Initiative must pay the Participation Fee.

Please also consult the list of other multilateral programs for citizens of the Netherlands.

Persons applying for these work permits must meet the following criteria:

They

  • are citizens of The Netherlands;
  • have to be between 18 and 30 years of age, their application must be stamped as received by the Canadian Embassy in Berlin on or after their 18th birthday or prior to their 31st birthday;
  • reside in The Netherlands;
  • are not accompanied by dependent family members (spouse, partner or children);
  • have the financial resources necessary to support themselves;
  • have not been convicted of a criminal offence;
  • have a valid passport;
  • have a return ticket or prove of sufficient funds at the Port of Entry to purchase a return ticket;

One can participate two times in the programs. However, one cannot apply for the same type of work permit twice (i.e. if you want to take part a second time, you have to apply for a different type of work permit from the first) and there has to be an interruption between the two stays.
