Countdown to Vancouver 2010

As a fun-filled way to celebrate one year to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics the Canadian High Commissionin Accra, Ghana co-hosted a sports day with the Ghanaian Hockey Association and Right to Play. Over 100 disadvantaged children and junior national field hockey team members participated in Right to Play developmental games and Canadian-style road hockey.The event demonstrated that whether you come from the frozen north of Canada or hot, humid Ghana, the spirit of sport has the unique potential to bring us all together. The sports day was widely covered by local media. The Canadian High Commissioner also appeared earlier in the week on a local breakfast television show to promote Vancouver,the upcoming Games and to deliver key messages.
