Supporting Documents

All adult applications require at least one piece of signature identification to support the identity and name to appear on the passport. The federal, provincial or municipal governments in Canada issue these documents. Equivalent Greek documents that bear your name and signature are acceptable.

Photocopies of original documents (except for passports) may be accepted provided they are signed by your guarantor and the details are clearly visible. A photocopy of the passport (valid or expired within the last year) is not accepted as the passport has to be included with the application for cancellation.

Please note that a Canadian birth certificate, a Canadian Citizenship Card or a marriage certificate is not acceptable as supporting document. A supporting document confirms that you are currently using the application name and signature in your everyday life.

All documents submitted in a language other than English or French must be translated.

Acceptable translations : by a lawyer, by a certified translator or by the Translation Office of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Examples of acceptable supporting documents bearing your name and signature:

  • Valid passport of another country
  • Valid driving license
  • Valid Health Card
