Visas and Immigration
Welcome to the Visa Section of the Embassy of Canada to Guatemala.
For information about going to Canada and to find out how to make an application at this office, please refer to our list of services below.
We provide these services to residents, nationals, or persons legally admitted to Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
The Embassy of Canada no longer provides public office hours for immigration or visa purposes. Applications may no longer be made in person or dropped off at the Embassy of Canada; they must be made at the Visa Application Centre (VAC) or sent by mail/courier to the Embassy of Canada to Guatemala.
All applicants are encouraged to send their Temporary Resident visitor, Study or Work Permit, and all permanent residents applying for travel documents to return to Canada - applications directly to the VAC. The VAC will benefit our applicants with extended business hours, on-site client service and will minimize delays.
Effective September 1, 2012, the visa office in Mexico City is responsible for processing permanent resident applications from nationals previously served by the visa office in Guatemala City. Applications currently at the office in Guatemala City will continue to be processed at that office. Applicants will be informed if their application is transferred to Mexico City.
