The Ambassador and staff of the Canadian Embassy in Budapest spent a day volunteering in the community park of Margit Island. The Embassy personnel worked together in the Children's Playground to collect litter, prepare flower beds, remove weeds and undertake other general clean up, in a collective effort to support a green Budapest.
"It has been a great pleasure for us to contribute to Főkert Zrt's efforts to maintain this lovely park and playground that families can enjoy,” remarked Canadian Ambassador Tamara Guttman. “Our goal on this day was to increase volunteer participation and to give back to our community. We are fortunate to live and work in the beautiful city of Budapest and plan to continue this new tradition each year.”
Corporate Social Responsibility is a pillar of Canadian foreign policy, and the Embassy of Canada in Budapest was proud to put words into action on this day of community volunteering.
