Passport Services

Please carefully read the following relevant sections as well as the instructions accompanying the application form and make certain that you have met all the requirements to ensure quick and efficient service.  Incomplete passport applications will not be processed and will be returned.

What's New?

  • On May 9, 2015, new passport requirements for photo and signature  came into effect.
  • It is now easier for Canadians abroad to find a guarantor
If you are applying for a Canadian passport abroad, finding a guarantor is much simpler. The option of asking a Canadian adult passport holder to be your guarantor will make the passport process more efficient and streamlined.

  • New services fees, including for lost or stolen passports
On March 31, 2014, modest fees for certain passport services came into effect. With over 65,000 Canadian passports lost or stolen in 2013, Passport Canada implemented a new service fee for replacement of lost/ stolen passports. As a cost-recovery operation, the Passport Program must charge the appropriate fees to cover its costs which will keep general passport fees down and maintain a high level of service for Canadians.
