The High Commission of Canada is happy to support the first edition of the Delhi International Queer Theatre and Film Festival, which will take place on December 12 and 13 at the Lok Kala Manch Auditorium on Lodhi Road.

The festival is being organised by Harmless Hugs, a civil society organisation that promotes women empowerment and the LGBT community. Entrance is free and seats will be given on a first come first serve basis.

The Deputy High Commissioner for Canada to India, Mr. Jess Dutton, will address the audience at the inauguration ceremony on December 12 at 11:00 am.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Dutton said: “Canada strongly supports respect for diversity and advocates for dignity and equal rights for all - regardless of gender, religion, colour, race, age or sexual orientation. We are proud to support the Delhi Queer International Theatre and Film Festival and build awareness on the rights of lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).”
