Canada, a global aerospace leader, to be partner country at India Aviation 2016

Canada to showcase its aviation expertise and collaboration opportunities with India

15 March 2016 | No. 201603 – 03

Sixteen leading Canadian companies, universities and colleges will showcase Canada’s excellence and leadership in the aerospace sector at India Aviation 2016 in Hyderabad, beginning 16 March 2016. Globally renowned Canadian companies are looking to partner with Indian businesses in delivering top-tier products and services to the Indian aviation sector.

Canada’s partnership at India Aviation 2016 closely follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for increased cooperation in the aviation sector which was signed between Transport Canada and the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation. This MoU creates a framework for increased cooperation in areas related to aviation safety, sustainable airport development, helicopter emergency medical services, and regional connectivity.

When speaking about the forthcoming event, High Commissioner Nadir Patel said, “Canada is a recognised global leader in the aviation and aerospace ecosystem, and is therefore the natural partner country for Indian Aviation 2016. As India is one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world, it is wonderful to see great opportunities for top Canadian companies to partner with the Indian aviation industry on aircraft, avionics, services, sustainable airport development, regional connectivity and training. I am confident that this delegation will result in new partnerships and further strengthen the aviation relationship between our two countries.”

At the event, High Commissioner Patel will deliver a keynote address and will present opportunities for Canada and India to work together. The delegation will hold meetings with Indian business partners and key local government and industry contacts. Canada will also have a pavilion showcasing Canadian expertise at the show.

The delegation includes representatives from:

  • Aerospace Industries Association of Canada,
  • Air Canada,
  • Airports Kinesis Consulting,
  • Bell Helicopter,
  • Bombardier,
  • CAE,
  • Canadore College,
