Important notice:
Effective October 1, 2012, there are new requirements for child application regarding the proof of parentage.
Passport application forms can either be downloaded and printed from the internet or picked up from the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi or the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai and Chandigarh. Alternately, if you would like to have the required form(s) mailed to you, please contact us and provide your name, full mailing address and daytime contact telephone number.
The standard processing time for a new passport is 15 working days after submission of a fully completed application with supporting documentation.
Canadian passports are valid for a maximum period of three years from the date of issue.
Canadian passports are valid for a maximum period of five years from the date of issue. If your child's current passport has expired, is within 12 months of the expiry date, or if all visa pages are full, you may apply for a new passport. Please note that 6 months validity may be required on your child's passport to enter some countries.

Please note: Both parents are required to participate in obtaining passport services for the child and to sign the application form. The other parent may be contacted at some point during the processing period.
To avoid processing, delays or the possible rejection of your application, we strongly recommend that you provide a birth certificate showing the names of both parents.
