The Embassy of Canada is pleased to announce the winners of the Canada-Italy Innovation Award. The Award, whose aim is to strengthen the ties between the two countries in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation, has had a marked success in its first year, both due to the significant number of applications received and to their high quality. The Embassy thanks all the participants for their interest in Canada and hopes that collaborations between the two countries continue to flourish, both through this initiative, and in other occasions.

The winners of the first edition of the Canada-Italy Innovation Award 2013 are:

Andrea Castelletti from Politecnico of Milan for a project with University of Laval, Quebec City (Quebec) in the priority area of Energy and Environment;

Fabrizio Monaci from University of Siena for a project with University of Toronto Scarborough (Ontario) in the priority area of Environment;

Mauro Migliardi from University of Padova for a project with University of Regina (Saskatchewan) in the priority area of Life Sciences;

Andrea Idili from University “Tor Vergata” of Rome for a project with University of Montreal (Quebec) in the priority area of Health.
