Canada-Italy Innovation Award 2014: The Winners

Canada-Italy Innovation Award logoThe Embassy of Canada is pleased to announce the winners of the Canada-Italy Innovation Award 2014. The Award, whose aim is to strengthen the ties between the two countries in the fields of Science, Technology and Innovation, has continued to experience a marked success in its second year, both due to the significant number of applications received and to their high quality. The Embassy thanks all the participants for their interest in Canada and hopes that collaborations between the two countries continue to flourish, both through this initiative, and in other occasions.

The winners of the second edition of the Canada-Italy Innovation Award 2014 are:

  • Antonio Morandi from University of Bologna for a project with Polytechnique de Montréal (Québec) in the priority area of Energy and Environment
     
  • Carlo Giorgio Visconti from the Polytechnic of Milan for a project with the University of Toronto (Ontario) in the priority area of Energy and Environment
     
  • Daniele Vadalà from the University of Catania for a project with the GreenScience Technologies Inc. of Toronto (Ontario) in the priority area of Food Security/Sustainable Agricultural Development
     
  • Luca Caneparo from the Polytechnic of Turin for a project with the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (British Columbia) in the priority area of Green Technologies
     
  • Francesco Calderoni of the Catholic University of Milan for a project with the Université de Montréal (Québec) in the priority area of ICT
