Methods of Payment

For skilled worker applications sent to Sydney, please note that the only method of payment accepted is by certified cheque in Canadian dollars payable to the Receiver General of Canada. For additional information, please consult Application for permanent residence webpage.

All immigration and visa services offered by Canadian Government offices abroad and in Canada are subject to processing fees. Cost recovery fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application. If paid in advance, the Right of Permanent Residence Fee will be refunded if the application for permanent residence is refused or withdrawn.

The Canadian Embassy in Rome does not accept payment by CREDIT CARD.

The Visa Section at the Canadian Embassy in Rome will not accept cash, except the exact amount paid in person in Canadian dollars ONLY. Do not send cash through the mail or by commercial courier. It will not be accepted and your application will be returned to you. The Embassy will not take any responsibility if the returned cash does not reach you.

Payment of Cost Recovery Fees can be made as listed below. Please note that the applicant is responsible for any bank or service charges.

Fee schedule

A) In euros:

1 - For residents of Greece:

If you do a direct deposit, please make sure you know the exact amount to deposit before going to the Bank. You must bring a valid photo identification, such as your passport and your fiscal code.

An application can only be processed with payment of the exact amount indicated on the fee schedule. Include with your application the proof of payment either in the form of the receipt from the bank or a print-out of the internet transaction. If you will be applying in person, please ensure that the internet transaction has been completed at least 24 hours prior to the submission of your application. The receipt must be legible and contain the date of the transaction and the name and date of birth of the principal applicant or one of your group going to Canada. If you require a copy of the receipt for your records, you must make your own copy before mailing your application. If your proof of payment is not included with your application or if an incorrect fee has been paid, your application will be returned to you by registered mail, which will significantly delay the processing of your application.

2 - For residents of Albania:

(ONLY FOR PAYMENTS IN EUROS / NOT IN CANADIAN DOLLARS) Fees are payable by direct deposit at the Intesa SanPaolo Bank. These fees may be paid at any branch of the Intesa SanPaolo Bank in Albania.

An application can only be processed with payment of the exact amount indicated on the fee schedule. Please make sure you know the exact amount to deposit before going to the Bank. At the time of deposit, the Intesa SanPaolo Bank will issue a computerized credit note (Njoftim Kredi) together with a deposit slip (Manda Arkëtimi). The credit note must be included with the application form and sent to the Visa office in Rome. The only acceptable proof of payment is the computerized credit note. The handwritten deposit slip is provided for your own records. Applications that are submitted with an incorrect fee or credit note will be returned to you by registered mail, which will significantly delay the processing of your application.

B) In Canadian dollars for all applicants:

In cash in Canadian dollars only when it is the exact amount and if it is paid in person. By money order or certified cheque in Canadian dollars. This money order or certified cheque, payable to the Canadian Embassy in Rome, can be purchased at most banks. We cannot accept payment by personal cheques, company cheques, credit card or Canadian postal orders.
