Fees

How much does it cost to participate in IEC and get the documents you need to travel and work in Canada?

You have to pay a fee to participate in International Experience Canada, which you must include in your application package. The fee amount can change depending on the currency exchange rate and is updated regularly. Program Participation Fee (PPF) : 14,250 yen (C$150) as of May 8, 2013.

The exchange rate for PPF is determined by the Embassy of Canada. Do not use any other exchange rate, do not add any other fee.

Enter the full name of the Working Holiday Program applicant as the payer. Please note that you are responsible for the payment of any service charge levied by the bank. You must transfer the exact amount stated on this page.

We do not accept payment from agents on behalf of applicants.

If you are transferring money from a country other than Japan, please note that we cannot accept any currency other than Japanese yen. Please note as well that you must arrange to cover all service charges yourself. Please send us the original transfer slip indicating that the full PPF amount shown on our website will be deposited into our account in Japanese yen. Total service charges for transfers from foreign banks can be quite expensive, and it may take time for the Embassy to confirm if the payment was received. If you ask a relative or friend in Japan to transfer the money on your behalf, please tell them to make sure that your name is indicated as the person making the payment.

The payment of the PPF via a bank transfer must be made before you submit your application. You must include the original remittance receipt with your application. Other forms of payment (cheque, postal money order, cash, credit card, etc.) will not be accepted. Applications with incorrect forms of payment will be returned unprocessed.

As the applicant, you are responsible for all bank charges occurring in Japan. Any insufficient payment or overpayment received at the Embassy will automatically cause your application to be refused.

We accept Visa or Master Card credit card payments. Please fill out and sign the Credit Card Authorization form and include in your application package. Your card will be charged the participation fee of 150 Canadian dollars. This form is mandatory in order to process your payment by credit card.

No other forms of payment will be accepted.
