H.E. Eric Walsh, Ambassador of Canada
Ambassador Walsh has been serving as Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Korea since February 12, 2015. This is his fifth overseas assignment since joining the then-Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1995, following enjoyable postings in Turkey, Romania, Geneva (as Deputy Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament) and Germany (as Deputy Head of Mission in Berlin). While in Ottawa, he was proud to be part of the team that negotiated the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines, and between subsequent postings he served as Coordinator for Middle East and North African Affairs, and as Director for the East Asia and North Asia divisions.
Ambassador Walsh was born in London, Ontario and grew up in Toronto. He has an honours BA in Political Science, with a minor in Russian, from McGill University (1994). He is married to Lucie Tsai.
