For the fifth consecutive year, Canada increased its reach and attendance at the Milken Institute Global Conference (April 29-May 2, 2012) with a 60-person delegation featuring 14 Canadians on panels ranging from biofuels to banking, energy to institutional investment and from commodities to aerospace to social media. The Invest in Canada booth showcased Canada’s investment and business-friendly environment, which was showcased when John Engler, President of the Business Roundtable and former Governor of Michigan, held up the Invest in Canada Flagship Report to the audience of the "Jobs for America" panel and read out loud its first paragraph. His reason for doing this? To demonstrate the Canadian government's framework to support economic growth as a model for the US (video here).
The Milken Global Conference represents an excellent opportunity to promote Canada’s interests not only in Los Angeles but also on the world stage: 3,000 influential attendees from 60 countries were exposed to Canada’s strong value proposition through its partnership.
