Welcome Message from David Fransen, Consul General
My team and I are here to help Canadians working, visiting and living in our territory and to promote trade, investment and facilitate migration into Canada. We work closely with the private, public and voluntary sectors and with local, state and federal authorities.
Four Canadian provincial premiers joined other state, national and international leaders in late September to speak about environmental issues at the Governors' Global Climate Summit 2 in Los Angeles.
"Canada recognizes that climate change is a global problem that requires a global solution," stated Canadian Consul General David Fransen. "Canada is committed to tackling climate change through sustained action to build a low-carbon economy that includes reaching a global agreement, working with our North American partners and taking action domestically."
Former Manitoba Premier and newly-appointed Ambassador to the U.S. Gary Doer, Québec Premier Jean Charest, British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell (pictured at right with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger), and Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams offered their views on the policy and economics of addressing climate change.
