Situation in Mali

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada advises against all travel to Mali due to political instability and ongoing military clashes, as well as the threat of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping in northern Mali.
 
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada has taken the precaution of authorizing the departure of dependents of Canadian Embassy staff as well as non-essential staff in Bamako in light of the volatile security situation.
