Directions from Chapala/Ajijic to the Consulate of Canada in Guadalajara
From Lake Chapala, take Carretera Federal 44 – Chapala/Guadalajara northbound.
Approximately 9 km after passing the Guadalajara International Airport, as you enter into the city, the North and Southbound lanes of the Chapala/Guadalajara highway split in two at a large "Bienvenidos" sign (keep following towards the North).
As the opposing lanes merge once again, stick to the left and take the left-side exit (new ramp) onto Calz. Lazaro Cardenas towards Puerto Vallarta and Nogales.
After 7.5 km, you will pass under the Arcos del Milenio (Golden Arches) and take your first Retorno (exit on the right).
Turn right at the first traffic light, on Paseo de La Arboleda.
Go through one traffic light, under the overpass, and then turn right at 2nd intersection onto Chicharo (there is a red building on the corner named Hacienda Tamborazo de Don Juan).
Go two blocks to a T junction; the World Trade Centre (WTC - two pink towers) is across the street on the right.
Parking (temporary): Guests can park for a fee of $ 20.00 MXP per hour at the valet-managed open parking lot on the left side of the WTC.

Leaving the parking of the World Trade Centre, turn left heading north on Rincon de las Praderas.
At the stop sign at the end of the street, turn right onto Mariano Otero.
When you arrive at the roundabout of the Arcos del Milenio (Golden Arches), take the first exit on your right onto Lazaro Cardenas (in the direction of Mexico/Tonala).
At your first opportunity, after approximately 1 km, merge into the centre lanes of Lazaro Cardenas.
In another 6 km, take your right-hand exit into the lateral lanes of Lazaro Cardenas, following a sign indicating Chapala/Tlaquepaque/Calz. Glez Gallo/Airport. The exit into the lateral lanes is approximately 250 metres past the sign.
Once in the lateral lanes, after approximately 300 metres, merge to the right following the sign for Chapala/Aeropuerto/El Salto.
After taking the curve, you will find yourself in the lateral lanes of Carretera Federal 44 – the Guadalajara/Chapala highway southbound. You will need to merge left onto the main highway.
This highway will lead you past the airport, all the way to Chapala/Ajijic. Be sure to stick to your right when the highway splits into two, approximately 14.5 km past the airport (the split to the left is Carretera 35 leading to Poncitlan/Ocotlan/La Barca).
