In order to benefit from extended business hours, on site client service and faster processing standards, we recommend that applicants for temporary residence (visitors, students and workers) submit applications at a Visa Application Center (VAC).
When to Pay: Processing fees must be paid when the application is submitted. The payment (only certified cheque or bank draft) must be attached to the application form. Refer to the fee schedule for current rates. Check this webpage again just before paying for the up-to-date information.
Current applications: If you are paying additional fees for an application currently being processed at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City, the payment (certified cheque or bank draft) must be attached to the letter from our office requesting the additional payment.
Family class applications: All applications for sponsored family class members must be submitted to the Case Processing Centre in Canada. For more information on how to pay and where to submit your application, please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.
Economic Class applications:
All applicants in the economic classes must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Canada. For more information on how to pay, visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.
Multiple entry visa: If you plan to visit Canada multiple times in the near future (for example on business or to visit family), you should consider applying for a multiple entry temporary resident visa. You may be granted a visa valid for up to 10 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. If you wish to come to Canada to visit a child or grandchild, you may wish to apply for a Super Visa.
Temporary Resident applicants using the VAC: may pay the processing fee at the closest Scotia Bank. Refer to the VAC web site for detailed instructions. Application submitted directly at the Embassy cannot be paid at Scotia Bank. The Embassy only accepts applications submitted in certified cheques or money orders "cheques de caja" as mentioned above

Please note that the decision to issue a multiple entry visa is discretionary to the visa officer. Although a multiple entry visa might be issued in most of the cases, it may happen, in view of special circumstances, that the visa officer issues only a single entry visa. Therefore, paying the multiple entry fee will not warrant the issuancy of a multiple entry visa. Also note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the validity of your passport and that multiple entry visas can be issued for a maximum period of 10 years.
The family rate is applied when the sum of the fees for the members of the family is higher than $400 CAD or its equivalent in Mexican pesos. The definition for family only includes parents and their children (21 years old or younger) who are applying at the same time. Any other kind of relative is excluded. The rate can be used for multiple or single entry visas.
The work permit group rate may be applied for groups of performing artists (3 or more), such as ballets, orchestras and theatre groups, only when all members apply at the same time.
Applicants for permanent residence can pay the right of permanent residence fee ($490) at the time they submit their application or at a later date when requested. The processing fee is still required when submitting an application.
The following applicants are not required to pay the RPRF:
