The Miami team pursues four main business lines: consular assistance, business development and investment promotion, advocacy, culture and information exchange between Canada and the United States and migration integrity.
Consular Assistance
Hours: 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Over 2.5 million Canadians visit the "Sunshine State" each year and it is estimated that over 120,000 Canadian-born residents live and/or work in Florida. Our consular team, headed by Paul Cunningham, assists Canadians who encounter problems, or require information on such matters as passports, citizenship, old age security, Canada Pension Plan, birth/marriage/death certificates, taxation, etc. At the same time, we deal with cases involving child abductions, child custody, deaths and arrests.

Trade and Investment
The trade and investment section is headed by Marc-André Hawkes, Senior Trade Commissioner. We support Canadian companies who have researched and selected Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as a target market for their products, services or technologies. The Trade Commissioner Service offers four Key Services to clients. We also provide assistance to American and foreign companies based in Florida who wish to invest or do business in Canada.

Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service (FPDS)
Our FPDS team, headed by Beth Richardson, conducts advocacy on Canadian interests and values and interprets local U.S. political and economic events and trends of interest to Canada. We also promote studies in Canada at universities and schools and provide information on general economic, financial and economic developments and policies in Canada and the Canadian provinces.
