The Consulate General of Canada in Minneapolis was pleased to be a partner in this year’s Algae Biomass Summit. The Consulate represented Canadian companies and researchers at its booth in the summit’s exhibition hall. Seven Canadian companies attended, as well as researchers from Canada’s National Research Council, several bio-industrial research agencies in Quebec, and three Canadian universities. Two of these companies, SFN Biosystems and Pond Biofuels, were recently featured as leaders in new algae technology by Biofuels Digest. Three Canadian companies and four Canadian investors also participated in the pre-Conference Finance Symposium, where they presented their pitches on the future of algae biomass energy to venture capitalists interested in the field.
