Professional, technical and strategic services

One of Canada’s largest engineering and consulting firms exp(formerly known as Trow Associates), is located in Brampton, Ontario. The company’s U.S. headquarters in District 2, employs 150 Floridians on projects across the country.

One of exp’s major projects, the Keystone Pipeline and related facilities, transports up to 590,000 barrels of crude oil per day from Alberta’s oil sands to refineries in Illinois and Oklahoma. Inaugurated in 2010, the $5 billion project involves new 30-inch and 36-inch pipeline stretching over more than 2,000 miles.


Canadian companies create Florida jobs

Canadian companies have invested approximately $3 billion in Florida. These 204 Canadian-owned companies provide employment to 26,144 people across the state. In total, 557,100 Florida jobs depend on trade and investment in Canada. Some of these investments comes from world reknown Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba installation, engineering firm exp, and retailers Circle K and Aldo Shoes.




High-tech computing

Citrix Systems, a global high-tech leader in virtualization, networking and cloud computing is a flagship of Florida’s new economy, employing 1,500 Florida residents at four locations.

Citrix has annual sales of approximately $50 million in Canada, including federal, provincial and municipal governments. Citrix recently opened a research and development center in Vancouver, British Columbia, with 47 employees to leverage local talent with unique computer virtualization skills and experience to enhance international competitiveness.
