Paying fees in New York

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2010, WE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT CASH. WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT CERTIFIED CHEQUES OR MONEY ORDERS FOR THE EXACT AMOUNT.

Payment must be made by money order or bank certified cheque for the exact amount.

All processing fees are non-refundable except for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). **RPRF refunds from the Consulate are in U.S. dollars only at the current exchange rate on the day of refund. Gains or losses due to exchange rate fluctuations are borne by the applicant.

Read these instructions very carefully. Failure to submit payment exactly as indicated will delay the processing of your application.

Modes of Payment

By Certified Cheque or Money Order

  • For applications submitted in person and/or by mail.
  • Fees for services are acceptable only in CANADIAN or US currency.
    (Note: Absolutely NO personal or company issued checks will be accepted)

Payment of fees in CANADIAN currency must be: A CERTIFIED CHEQUE or MONEY ORDER made payable to the "RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA" Payment in Canadian dollars must be drawn on a bank located in Canada or Canadian Postal Service. Canadian postal orders in US funds are NOT accepted.

Payment of fees in UNITED STATES currency must be: A CERTIFIED CHEQUE or MONEY ORDER made payable to the "CONSULATE GENERAL OF CANADA, NEW YORK". Payment in U.S. dollars must be drawn on a bank located in the United States or The United States Postal Service
