
The Canadian High Commission Islamabad recently launched a High Commissioner’s round-table series with an inaugural round table focused on women’s rights within the context of Islam.
Canada has initiated the High Commissioner’s Round-table Series to build closer civil society links between Canada and Pakistan. Participants from civil society organizations discuss common challenges, and share and learn from each other’s experiences. Reports will be available on each discussion.

High Commissioner Randolph Mank held a round table on Balochistan and Border Areas in Pakistan on August 12, 2009.

Discussions focussed on the independence of electoral institutions, election reform, and updating of electoral rolls.

The High Commission held its fourth round table on October 13, 2009, on Federalism in Pakistan. The four-hour session included Pakistani senators, leading journalists, academics and civil society representatives.
