Canadian Embassy offers its condolences to friends and family of victims
Lima, February 8th, 2012. - The Canadian Embassy in Peru offers their most sincere condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the victims of the tragic accident that occurred on Monday, February 6th in Hampstead, Ontario.
Canada is a friend to Peru, and we welcome the contributions of their migrant workers to our country. We also recognize the benefits accrued to their families and their country of origin from their employment in Canada.
Likewise, we extend our best wishes for a full and fast recovery to the three passengers who survived the crash.
Canadian officials have been in constant contact with Peruvian Embassy in Canada to ensure that the survivors are receiving the appropriate assistance from local authorities.
The Ontario Provincial Police and the Ontario Ministry of Labour are investigating the circumstances that generated this terrible accident.
