Fees for the Visa and Immigration Section

How To Submit

New applications: Processing fees must be paid when the application is submitted. If you submit your application on-line, cost recovery fees must be paid on-line. If you submit a paper-based application, the payment must be attached to the application form. Refer to the fee schedule link for current rates. Prior to securing your processing fee payment, please check this webpage again for updated information.

Current applications: If you are paying additional fees for an application currently being processed in Manila, the fee payment must be attached to the letter from our office requesting the payment.

Family class applications: All applications for sponsored family class members must be submitted to the Case Processing Centre in Canada. For more information on how to pay and where to submit your application, please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.

Economic Class applications:

All applicants in the economic classes must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Canada. For more information on how to pay, visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.

Multiple entry visa: A multiple entry visa allows you to enter Canada repeatedly during the validity period of the visa.  If you plan to visit Canada multiple times in the near future (for example on business or to visit family), you should consider applying for a multiple entry temporary resident visa. You may be granted a visa valid for up to 10 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. 

Payment Instructions - Philippines

• Fees must be paid by bank draft, certified cheque, postal money order (PMO) or manager’s cheque. Cash payment is not accepted.
• Print your name on the back of the bank draft or certified cheque.
• Fees can only be paid in Canadian Dollar and Philippine Peso currencies although it is advisable to pay in Canadian Dollars to avoid currency fluctuation.
• If you are paying in Canadian dollars, the bank draft or certified cheque should be addressed to the: Receiver General for Canada.
• If you are paying in Philippine Pesos, the bank draft or certified cheque should be made payable to the: Embassy of Canada, Manila.
• Cheques can be issued by any local or international banks or post offices. Bank cheques are valid for 6 months from the date they were issued, while PMOs are valid for only 3 months.
• If bank drafts are issued from a bank in Canada in Canadian dollars, the "drawee" (also known as the clearance or correspondent bank) must be left blank.

Payment Instructions - Japan

Payment may be made at any bank in Japan using only the Interbank remittance system, in yen only.

Enter the full name of the principal applicant as the payee. If you do not have a phone number in Japan, enter the Embassy’s phone number where required: (03) 5412-6200. Please note that you are responsible for the payment of any service charge levied by the bank. You must transfer the exact amount stated in the fee schedule (do not use any other exchange rate, do not add any other fee).

The payment of visa fees at a bank must be made before you submit your application. You must include the original remittance receipt with your application. The following forms of payment are not accepted: Internet banking, cheque, postal money order, cash, credit card, etc. Applications with incorrect forms of payment will be returned unprocessed.

You may also pay by bank draft drawn against any Canadian bank, made out to the Receiver General for Canada.

Payment Instructions - Korea

Residents of Korea:

For your convenience, payment may be made at most banks in favour of the Canadian Embassy, HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation) Account Number:  002-709806-296

Bank receipts must show the name of the applicant and should then be attached to the application when it is submitted. Only original bank receipts and ATM receipts will be accepted. The following methods of payment are not accepted: Internet banking, telephone banking, cash and personal cheques. Payment in any other currency will not be accepted.

When you pay in Won, please pay the fees as shown below, on the basis of the official rate of exchange of the Canadian Embassy. Do not pay the fees based on any other currency exchange rate. Fees must be paid in Korean Won to the above bank account. Applications with incorrect fees will be returned to the applicant.

The exchange rate can be adjusted without prior notice. Therefore, please confirm the fee schedule on the date of application submission.

You may also pay by a bank draft drawn against any bank in Canada made payable to the Receiver General for Canada.

If you are paying from abroad

Fees must be paid in Canadian dollars by bank draft to the Receiver General for Canada; drawn against any bank in Canada.

If your application is received at this office without the correct processing fee attached, it will be returned to you unprocessed. This can cause you significant delays, so calculate your fee carefully.

Cash payment is not accepted. We are not responsible for the loss of cash sent by mail or courier.

Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)

Applicants for permanent residence can pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490) at the time they submit their application or at a later date when requested. The processing fee is still required when submitting an application.

The following applicants are not required to pay the RPRF:

• dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an  orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild;

• protected persons, including Convention refugees.

Refunds

The Department of Citizenship and immigration charges fees to partially recover the cost of providing certain services to the public. Since the processing fee helps defray the cost of processing your application, it cannot be refunded even if your application is unsuccessful.

The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) for immigrants will be refunded for unsuccessful immigrant applications or for those who withdraw or otherwise abandon immigration to Canada before the visa has been used.
