Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision of the Administration Assistant, the Cleaner ensures the cleanliness of the Chancery, including offices, hallways, washrooms and kitchens, prepares rooms for official events at the Chancery, cleans and prepares staff quarters for new residents, as well as performs other cleaning duties as required.

Area of Selection/Eligibility:

This position is open to individuals who are eligible to reside and work in Poland, who meet all of the essential requirements stated below, and whose applications are received by the closing date.
Candidates should bear in mind that a physical presence will be required during the assessment stages.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate concisely in their cover letter and CV how they meet those essential criteria:

Language:

  • Communicative level of Polish (oral & written).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience* as a Cleaner in a commercial, industrial or government building.

* Recent is defined as within the past 5 years.

Competencies:

  • Honesty;
  • Discretion;
  • Client focus;
  • Ability to work as part of the team;
  • Adaptability and flexibility.

Asset Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience as a Cleaner or Maid in a diplomatic mission.
  • Basic knowledge of English and/or French.

If the candidate meets the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.

Operational Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime occasionally, weekends and after normal working hours.
  • Hours of work: regular working week 40 hours (8 hours per day).

Conditions of Employment:

  • Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory references and the ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability security screening (including a criminal record and credit check).
  • Proof of right to work in Poland will be required at the interview stage of the process.
  • A medical certificate will be required.
