Canadian Studies in Poland
There are several Canadian Studies programmes in Polish universities that conduct research, offer courses and organize conferences on Canada. Some have extensive library holdings and are a rich source of information on Canada for Polish students, researchers, academics and the general public. These specialists, more commonly known as Canadianists, are members of the Polish Association for Canadian Studies (PACS) .
PACS is an Associate Member of the International Council for Canadian Studies (ICCS) The ICCS promotes worldwide scholarly study, research, teaching and publication about Canada in all disciplines and all countries. The ICCS also acts as administrative agent of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada for most of the Department's Canadian Studies Program. The ICCS also maintains its own scholarship programs and awards. Candidates wishing to apply to ICCS programs must be members or obtain, in order to be eligible, a letter of recommendation from the Polish Association for Canadian Studies.
