Working at the Mission

The staff of the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations consists of two categories: Canada-Based Staff and Locally-Engaged Staff.

Canada-Based Staff (Canadian diplomats) are members of the Departement of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) or the Department of National Defence (DND). Locally-Engaged Staff are recruited locally by the Mission. Employment opportunities are posted on our website when a vacant position is to be staffed by way of an open competition. These employment opportunities are only open to legal residents of the USA.
