The Canadian Embassy assists academics who are engaged in promoting Canadian Studies in Romania and Bulgaria and administers Canadian Studies Grant Programmes.
These programmes are funded primarily by the Government of Canada and are administered by the Canadian Embassy in cooperation with the International Academic Relations Division (ACE) and the International Council for Canadian Studies. Their objective is to develop and enhance knowledge about Canada's values and culture through teaching, research and publication.
The major programs available are support to university libraries, assistance to Canadian Studies associations and centres, Faculty Enrichment and Faculty Research programs.
The Canadian Embassy also has a small discretionary budget for Canadian Studies activities such as:
