Cultural Relations
Please note that the Canadian Embassy has no cultural budget as such and it is not in a position to provide significant financial support to artists or venues presenting Canadian work. We do, however, administer a small discretionary fund called the Post Initiative Fund. The goal of this fund is to raise the profile of Canada and further Canadian interests in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. This is accomplished by promoting art activities and events in partnership with artists, festivals, producers, directors, institutions and venues, publishers, local and national contacts, as well as the media.
Organizations and individuals who believe a project of theirs will meet this goal are eligible to apply for support. Please send your proposals to:

Romanian, Bulgarian and Moldovan organizations interested in host Canadians or Canada- related events should be aware that Canadian artists and writers may apply for travel and art promotion grants to the Canada Council for the Arts or to the Arts and Cultural Industries Promotion Division (ACA) at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada.
