Visa and Permit Processing Fees

Visa processing fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.

Method of Payment

Processing fees must be paid by bank draft only and must be in Canadian dollars.

The bank draft must have been issued in the past two months and must be made payable to: “The Receiver General for Canada”.

Bank drafts must be drawn on a Canadian bank showing the full mailing address of the bank in Canada.

Important:

  • Bank drafts can be obtained from most financial institutions (banks) in Saudi Arabia, but MUST be drawn on a Canadian correspondent bank.
  • We do not accept payment by personal cheque, company cheque, drafts drawn on foreign banks, Canadian dollar drafts drawn on banks outside Canada, Canadian postal money orders or cash.

*Multiple-entry visas can be issued for up to 5 years duration. The Visa Officer will consider a combination of factors in reference to the type and the duration of the visa that will be issued. Its validity cannot extend past the validity of your passport. (Return to Text)

Please read the following instructions and examples:

  • Family rate applies when the family members all apply for a temporary resident visa at the same time and place.
  • For family rate purpose, family members are : spouse or common-law partner,  biological or adopted dependent children under 22 years old. Others cannot be included.

Example - visitors:

  1. Husband or wife accompanied by his/her spouse travelling with 2 dependent children. Single-entry visas (4 X $75), total fee is $300.
  2. Husband or wife accompanied by his/her spouse travelling with 4 dependent children. Single-entry visas (6 X $75 = $450), should pay only $400 (family rate).
  3. Husband or wife accompanied by his/her spouse travelling with 4 dependent children. Multiple-entry visas (6 x $150 = $900), should pay only $400 (family rate).

Example - student permit:

  1. Husband or wife applying for a student permit, accompanied by his/her spouse and 4 children aged 2, 4, 7 and 11 years old. Children of 7 & 11 years old will attend school in Canada:

    • Principal applicant (husband or wife) and children of 7 and & 11 years old:  3 x $125 for study permit applications.
    • Accompanying wife or husband + 2 children aged 2 & 4 ( visitors ): 3 x $150 = $450. Should pay only $400, as family rate applies for accompanying dependent family members.
    • Total fee: $125 + $125 + $125 + $400 = $775.

Note: There is no need to submit an acceptance letter from a specific school for accompanying minor children (under 18 years old) attending elementary or secondary school in Canada.

Example – work permit:

  • Same as student permit except that the fee for the work permit is $150.
