Welcome to the website of the High Commission of Canada to Singapore.
I am delighted to represent Canada in this warm and vibrant country, working to enhance our already strong and long-standing friendship. There is an active Canadian community in Singapore with almost 6,500 Canadians living here and 15,000 alumni, who have studied in Canadian universities. We also have a dynamic business community of well over 100 companies and two-way trade of more than $2 billion a year.
Asia is a priority region for Canada. Following the successful visit to Singapore of Governor General David Johnston in November 2011, our relations with Singapore have been reinvigorated with a greater focus on trade and investment, innovation and education.
At the same time, we strive to provide efficient consular and immigration services, expand our political and economic dialogue, and strengthen cooperation in areas such as defence, the protection of human rights, and promotion of Canadian culture.
From 2012 to 2015, Singapore will play an important role as Canada’s coordinating partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Canada, which has been a Dialogue Partner to ASEAN for 35 years, looks forward to working with Singapore to build on this important relationship.
Our team at the High Commission is pleased to provide you with this gateway to a range of information about Canada. Whether you are interested in doing business with Canada, studying in Canada, or want to know more about our visas and immigration services, we hope that you will find this website useful and informative.
