“Capturing the Rainbow Nation - Displaying multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-racial South Africa”

The High Commission of Canada and the Bailey Seippel Gallery are pleased to announce the winners of the “Capturing the Rainbow Nation” photography competition.

First prize: Motshwari Mofokeng for Stand Alone Newtown

In her address at the prize-giving event, High Commissioner of Canada, H.E. Adèle Dion commented that “The photos on display present a mosaic of South African life.  I congratulate all the photographers who have brought their artistic eye to portraying today’s multicultural South Africa”.

Members of the jury were Ms. Robyn Sassen, Dr. Ralf Seippel, Mr. Cedric Nunn and Mr. Patrick Cram.

The winning and short-listed photos can be viewed from April 1 to 15, 2012 at the Bailey Seippel Gallery, Arts on Main, 260 Fox Street, Johannesburg.
