Children of War

November 20 to December 19, 2014 
Children of War: Broken Childhood exhibition

In partnership with Constitution Hill and the United Nations Information Centre, we invite you to an exhibition entitled “Children of War: Broken Childhood”. This is a compelling photographic exhibition that raises awareness of the estimated 300,000 children involved in more than 30 conflicts around the world. The exhibit was jointly produced by Leora Kahn of the NGO Proof: Media for Social Justice and the Office of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict.

Dates: Opens at 18:00 on Nov 20 and runs until Dec 19, 2014
Opening hours: Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 17:00, Sat & Sun from 10:00 to 15:00

Unpacking the Child GaugeDecember 9, 2014
Unpacking the Child Gauge (photo attached, hope not too small)

In partnership with the Synergos Institute and the Children’s Institute, we invite you to a dialogue that will unpack the Child Gauge 2014 report. The South African Child Gauge is the only publication in the country that provides an annual snap-shot of the status of South Africa’s children. It is published by the Children’s Institute at the University of Cape Town, to track South Africa’s progress towards realising children’s rights. The 2014 issue focuses on the theme 'Preventing violence against children - breaking the intergenerational cycle.’
